02 September 2026 Control condensation. Protect installations.

Discover how flexible closed-cell insulation helps prevent condensation and protect mechanical equipment.

We have published a new CEFEP technical paper explaining why condensation on pipework should be prevented and how flexible closed-cell insulation can help protect mechanical installations over the long term. Moisture can damage building structures, promote mould growth and lead to corrosion, with potential consequences for the reliability and service life of technical installations.

Maintaining surface temperatures above the dew point is therefore essential to prevent condensation and support reliable system performance. Our technical paper explains how flexible elastomeric foam (FEF) and polyethylene foam (PEF) insulation combine thermal efficiency, resistance to water vapour diffusion and installation flexibility to provide reliable condensation control in cold, refrigeration and air-conditioning applications.

It also highlights the role of high-emissivity surfaces in achieving efficient insulation thicknesses, helping reduce energy consumption, minimise corrosion risks and extend the lifetime of technical installations.
