CEFEP, the industry association for FEF and PEF insulation, provides a representative body for European manufacturers of elastomeric and polyethylene foam insulation materials.

We develop and promote common standards and design solutions for FEF and PEF insulation to realise additional energy savings by insulating pipework, ductwork and associated parts of mechanical systems.

Our mission
CEFEP promotes the use of high-performance FEF and PEF insulation materials to enhance the energy efficiency and sustainability of buildings and industrial installations. The association provides common guidelines on the installation of these materials and is committed to ensuring compliance with European regulations.

Our Objectives

To develop common standards for FEF and PEF insulation products.
To define best practices for the insulation of pipe and ductwork.
To develop general design solutions for FEF and PEF insulation for diverse building types and applications.
To promote and actively influence national and European decision-making processes.
To coordinate harmonised joint-communications to relevant stakeholders on a European level.

Our aim is to demonstrate the contribution of pipe insulation regarding energy conservation and system sustainability of the entire mechanical system.

The Role of Technical Insulation.

This initiative aims, on the one hand, to analyse and evaluate the insulation requirements of the building services systems in various application scenarios. On the other hand, it intends to demonstrate the contribution of flexible closed-cell insulation systems to the efficiency of the corresponding supply systems.

Campaign: Mind the Gap.

Developing efficient design solutions aimed at optimising the efficiency of mechanical systems. Presenting best-practice guidelines for the insulation of pipework and ductwork, both for the optimisation (retrofit) of existing systems and for new ones.

System Sustainability

Definition of the term “closed-cell efficiency” for FEF and PEF insulation materials and their contribution to optimising energy demand and extending the service life of mechanical systems.
